England international Jesse Lingard is looking likely to become one of the Premier League’s biggest January transfer window moves.
The out-of-favour attacking midfielder is agitating to leave Man United for much-needed playing minutes, and London could be his next destination in the close coming days.
According to Sky, the Hammers have already made formal contact with the powers at Man United.
“West Ham have approached Manchester United with a view to signing Jesse Lingard on loan until the end of the season,” Sky reported.
“United triggered a one-year extension on Lingard's contract, which now runs until the summer of 2022, and are yet to decide whether to allow the 28-year-old to leave before the transfer deadline on February 1,” added the report.
Meanwhile, the log-leading Red Devils could extend the points cushion when Sheffield United visit Old Trafford on Wednesday.
