Ex-Premier League manager Glenn Roeder passes on

Former Premier League manager Glenn Roeder has passed on aged 65 the League Manager’s Association (LMA) have announced.

LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson in a statement said: “A cultured defender as a player, he managed with a studious style and was always generous with his time and ideas.

“Glenn was such an unassuming, kind gentleman who demonstrated lifelong dedication to the game.”

Roeder who enjoyed a 20-year playing career had been sick for some time in battling a brain tumor and served as a coach with the England national team under Glenn Hoddle.

In England, he coached, Watford, West Ham, Newcastle, and Norwich after starting out at Gillingham. His last jobs involved advisory roles at Sheffield Wednesday and Stevenage.
