Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to make Sweden return

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to come out of international retirement to play for Sweden. In the coming Euros. 

The 39-year-old AC Milan striker hasn't represented his country since Euro 2016 but according to FotbollDirekt, Sweden coach Janne Andersson is set to call Ibrahimovic in his squad set to be named in March 16.

The striker has always warmed to the idea of returning back to the national team and previously expressed an interest in playing for his country at the 2018 World Cup; Sweden set to face Georgia and Kosovo in World Cup qualifiers as well as the friendly against Estonia at the end of March.

The 39-year-old met with the Sweden manager recently with Anderson admitting that Zlatan was open to returning to the national team fold.  

“When Zlatan opened up for games in the national team, it felt natural and important to meet and discuss this as soon as possible. I am glad that we managed to get a meeting so quickly,” he said recently.

Zlatan is Sweden's all-time leading scorer after netting 62 times in 112 appearances. Despite his age, he has been a key figure for AC Milan in Serie A where he has notched 14 league goals in as many appearances.
