Dutch utility man Daley Blind has signed a new deal with Eredivisie giants Ajax until 2023.
Blind, who was already set to stay until summer 2022, rejoined Ajax from Manchester United in 2018 and has continued to be one of the star performers for his childhood club despite his much-publicized health issues in the recent past.
In a statement, Ajax said: “Ajax and Daley Blind have reached an agreement on the extension of his contract, which ran until June 30, 2022. The Dutch international's new contract will be extended by one year and will run until June 30, 2023.”
Blind won four consecutive Eredivisie titles between 2011 and 2014 before moving to United where he won the Europa League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.
The 31-year-old who has made 266 career first-team appearances for Ajax, scoring 11 goals has celebrated his return to Ajax with the Dutch double; winning his fifth league title and the KNVB Cup.
