The 26-year-old was forced off in the club’s defeat to Brighton over the weekend and according to Newcastle in a statement, the Englishman had a significant knee injury but will not require any surgery.
A statement from the club noted: “Isaac Hayden will miss the rest of the 2020/21 season with a significant knee injury but will not require surgery following further assessment. ”
The midfielder has been an important figure this season, appearing in 24 Premier League games and his absence will be a blow for the club who are currently placed 17th on the log with 28 points; just two points above 18th placed Fulham who have played a game less.
