Ramon Planes is expected to be appointed as Fiorentina's new sporting director this summer.
Planes has been a key figure in Barcelona's recruiting in recent years, but his deal at the Camp Nou expires at the end of this season.
Now, according to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the Florence-based club is targeting Planes, who has previously held similar positions at Espanyol, Elche, and Getafe.
Last August, Eric Abidal was fired from the role, and Planes, who had previously worked under him, was promoted to take over all of the department's main responsibilities.
Planes oversaw the arrivals of Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, and Sergino Dest, though Francisco Trincao and Junior Firpo's arrivals were less successful.
Mateu Alemany's appointment as the club's latest Director of Football earlier this month is likely to signal his departure this summer.
