Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has revealed that players enjoy playing for his manager Jurgen Klopp and Man City’s Pep Guardiola.
The Spanish suggested that there is a lot of similarities between the two managers having played for both of them at club level; Alcantara featuring for Guardiola at Bayern Munich.
In an interview by ESPN via Tribuna, the former Barcelona man said: “I will always speak positive things in an open way. What sets these two coaches apart is the idea of having a game methodology and knowing how to pass it on to the players.
“The players, in addition to listening and having that respect, do what the coach wants. This was the most important part of the stage that I lived with Guardiola and that I am living with Klopp."
The midfielder hopes that he can win the Champions League one day but will have to first beat Real Madrid this week as he believes that his side can turn the 3-1 deficit they come with from the first leg.
"The greatest quality of this team, me talking to them before playing, is the resilience of year after year Liverpool had before getting the titles. This resilience was evolving, winning more and more titles, this year, the same thing.”
