England manager Gareth Southgate has warned his stars after Leicester City’s James Maddison breached the lockdown rules.
Maddison and some of his club mates reportedly attended a house party last week with manager Brendan Rodgers dropping them in the club’s 3-2 loss at the hands of West Ham over the weekend.
The move is said to have angered Southgate who has plans in including the midfielder into his squad for Euro 2020; the former Middlesbrough coach expressing his anger at the indiscipline shown by Maddison.
"In the autumn discipline off the pitch and on the pitch created the biggest issues for us and meant we didn't get to the semi-finals of the Nations League that we were desperate to be in. It still annoys me when I look at that line-up – Italy, Spain, Belgium, France. It's a brilliant line-up and game you want to be involved in.
"One of the key areas was that we didn't have availability of players at certain times for on and off the field misdemeanors," Southgate said.
“The person who will have the biggest regret from this is James #Maddison.”— talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) April 12, 2021
“The #Euros is done for him, he cannot be trusted. He’ll have huge regrets.”
