Manchester United fans slammed the club’s co-owner Joel Glazer after he issued an apology following the club’s involvement in the botched European Super League.
Joel issued an apology to the United fans on Wednesday through the club’s official channels but the club fans were not willing to listen to him.
“You made very clear your opposition to the European Super League, and we have listened. We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can put things right. “In seeking to create a more stable foundation for the game, we failed to show enough respect for its deep-rooted traditions –promotion, relegation, the pyramid – and for that we are sorry.
“This is the world’s greatest football club and we apologize unreservedly for the unrest caused during these past few days,” Joel wrote.
Fans then attacked the owner stating that they didn’t have the club’s interest at heart with reports rife that they are planning a protest this Saturday in an attempt to get rid of the owner.
United is said to be worth $4b currently and a change in ownership rules could see fans having a majority stake according to some rumors.
The thought of Joel Glazer believing it was appropriate to talk about “rebuilding trust” with us, when there has never been even the tiniest speck of trust or respect for him, is quite something. Fuck off. #GlazersOut pic.twitter.com/ysARknPEJC— Scott Patterson (@R_o_M) April 21, 2021
