Laliga giants FC Barcelona are set to complete the signing of defender Emerson from league rivals Real Betis.
The Brazilian international originally joined Barcelona from Atletico Mineiro in January 2019 as part of a unique co-ownership project with Real Betis with the player signing a two-year loan at the start of his five-year contract with the Catalans, who retained the option to buy him outright for €6m in 2021.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Barca wants the player back at Camp Nou and will accept nothing less than €20m if there is any club interested in his services with PSG said to have offered a sum of €15m which was rejected.
Both Betis and PSG are said to be interested in the player on a permanent deal with Barcelona yet to decide if they would welcome back the player who has been very influential for Manuel Pellegrini.
Barca could now shell out their €6m clause, to avoid losing out on a potential future sale and sell him on in the next 12 months.
PSG's offer for Emerson was less than 15 million euros, which is too low for Barça's liking given the fact that they have to share that amount of money with Real Betis as well. Barça could count on the Brazilian right-back if no attractive offer arrives. [md] pic.twitter.com/beC33HXvcG
