Premier League giants Liverpool are interested in the services of Inter Milan striker Stefan de Vrij.
The Dutch international is valued at £49.5m by his club with the Reds keen on bringing in another defender to offer backup to Virgil van Dijk and Hoe Gomez who are still recovering from their different injuries.
FCInterNews reports that Liverpool will rival Laliga giants Barcelona for the services of the player with the Spanish side said to be also interested in the player.
The report further claims de Vrij is however happy at Inter and is working with his agent, Mino Raiola, to extend his current contract with the club to 2025.
WhoScored rates give the player a rate of 6.91 across 31 appearances in the league with Inter this season where he played a key role in Inter winning the Serie A title with his consistency at the back of defense.
It is claimed that Liverpool had enquired about the player before they decided to pursue a deal for Ibrahima Konate and despite agreeing on personal terms with Konate, who is now reportedly set to join the club this summer for £30.5m, the deal still seems to be on the balance with RB Leipzig still weighing their options under new management.
