Liverpool registered a 4-2 victory against Manchester United in a Premier League encounter at Old Trafford to boost their chances of a top-four finish.
United took the lead in the tenth minute through Bruno Fernandes. Paul Pogba found Marcus Rashford on the edge of the box, he passed the ball to Wan Bissaka who found Fernandes inside the box. The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder unleashed a shot that was deflected in by Phillips.
In the 34th minute, Liverpool drew level through Diogo Jota, Philips had a hand into too, redemption. Henderson initially punched away Robertson's corner but only as far as Salah. His attempted shot was blocked by a melee of bodies, but Philips was there to dig the ball out of a tight area. It reached Jota who diverted it past Henderson.
Just before halftime, Liverpool took the lead through Roberto Firmino, who scored a brilliant header. Alexandre-Arnold delivered a cross inside the box, Pogba failed to clear and it met Firmino who headed perfectly past Henderson.
In the second half, Firmino yet again scored another goal to give Liverpool a 3-1 lead.
Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit to one as he netted the second goal for the Red Devils. It was a superb give and go between Cavani and Rashford, and the England international had a cool finish past Alisson.
This was Liverpool’s first Premier League win at Old Trafford since March 2014, while it was manager Jürgen Klopp’s first-ever away win against Manchester United with the club.
