Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has admitted that he is proud after beating Frank Lampard’s Premier League record.
Following his goal against Liverpool on Thursday, the Portuguese have now scored more goals this season than Lampard ever managed in a single campaign.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford in January 2020, Bruno has managed 78 games where he has bagged 40 goals as well as a further 25 assists, showing just how crucial he has been for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The goal against Liverpool saw his season’s tally increase to 28 in all competition with the outing beating Lampard’s record of 27 in the 2009/10 season with the goals being the highest scored by a midfielder in a season.
Rui Guimaraes, the 26-year-old's agent, shared a photo to his Instagram story which showed Fernandes' better goal tally, and then he labeled him as the 'G.O.A.T.'; a story that was later shared by Bruno himself.
