Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope is a doubt for the Euros after his coach Sean Dyche confirmed that he is set for a minor operation on his knee later this week.
Pope is one of the keepers England will be carrying to the Euros and with no timeline given for his healing, there are fears that Gareth Southgate might be forced to find a new keeper ahead of the summer tournament.
“That’s not ideal for him or us and possibly for the England team. It’s nothing too serious, we don’t think, but it still needed doing,” Dyche said after their final game of the season.
The club further confirmed that the keeper “will be assessed following his operation to see whether he will be available for England in the European Championship.”
Pope is expected to be part of the England 26 man team that is set to be named on Tuesday 25 May.
