Rudiger sent Kevin de Bruyne a text after Champions League final clash

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has insisted that he didn’t have any ill intentions of injuring Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne in their Champions League final on Saturday.

De Bruyne had to be withdrawn midway through the game with the Belgian revealing later that he had suffered a fractured nose and eye socket following a clash with the German.

The move has elicited some bile from the Man City fans who accused the defender of intentionally injuring De Bruyne who should be fit for Euros with Belgium.

Taking to Twitter, the defender posted: "I'm really sorry for DeBruyneKev's injury.

"Of course this was not intentional from me - I've already been in touch with Kevin personally and I really wish him a speedy recovery and hope we can see him back on the pitch very soon again."
