Reports: Arsenal set for £250m summer spending spree

Arsenal are apparently willing to spend up to £250 million in the summer transfer window in order to reclaim a top-four spot.

The Gunners had a difficult season in 2020-21, finishing ninth in the Premier League standings, but head coach Mikel Arteta is still assumed to have the board's full support.

Arsenal has been linked with a number of deals in recent weeks, and according to 90min, the London club is willing to spend largely in the current market in the hope of reclaiming their past glory.

According to the source, the club is willing to spend up to £250 million on a new goalkeeper, center defender, full-back, and two central midfielders as part of the rebuild.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Brighton & Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma and Ben White, Norwich City's Max Aarons, Anderlecht's Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Leicester City's James Maddison are all said to be targets for next season, according to the source.

Arsenal is also rumored to be planning to raise finances by selling undesired players, with Granit Xhaka rumored to be on his way out of the London side.
