Italy boss Roberto Mancini is one of a rare breed of individuals that enjoyed success as a player as well as a manager.
This quick timeline of his successes will reinforce just how much of a winner he has been.
🏆 Roberto Mancini's success stories
As a player, Roberto Mancini won Serie A with Sampdoria in 1991 and that remains the club’s only ever Scudetto crown. There he struck up great chemistry alongside the great Gianluca Vialli in attack and the pair are still great friends.
Mancini collected the second Italian title of his playing career with Lazio nine years later in 2000. His first Scudetto triumph as a manager came in 2006 when he steered Inter to its first Serie A success in 17 years, completing a three-peat of titles between 2006 & 2008.
In 2012 Kun Agüero struck memorably against QPR to secure Man City’s first top-flight title in 44 years, and it was Mancini at the helm.
He’s now a champion at international level too after ending Italy’s 53-year wait for a second European Championships win with the Azzurri seeing off England at Wembley.
