Germany walk out of Olympic game after racist abuse

The German Olympic football team walked out of a pre-tournament friendly after allegedly receiving racist abuse.

With five minutes remaining, Germany was tied 1-1 with Honduras when the players decided to leave the field. According to the official Twitter account of the country, defender Jordan Torunarigha was racially abused during the behind-closed-doors game.

Torunarigha, who plays for Hertha BSC, has previously been the target of racist abuse, crying on the field after insults from Schalke fans during a DFB Pokal match in early 2020.
