Chelsea FC attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to ditch the England national team for Ghana.
The 20-year-old has struggled for minutes for both club and country despite starting his career in an impressive fashion.
His lack of game time at Chelsea where it is claimed he is yet to impress Thomas Tuchel has jeopardized his chances with the England national team as Gareth Southgate only wants to have players who are actively involved in their clubs.
The frustration of not being recognized by Southgate might see the player switch his international allegiance to Ghana according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The decision is unlikely to sit well with Southgate who rates the player and thinks he can be an important addition to his team if he can get the right minutes with the club.
The player on his side wants to feature in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and is confident that he can achieve that if he joins Ghana whos has been one of the best teams in the Qualifiers.
Odoi has close ties to Ghana and traveled to Accra this summer when he met Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo, sports minister Mustapha Ussif and Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku.
