Super League clubs plotting to revive controversial project

The European Super League clubs are plotting to revive their controversial project despite the uproar that it received the last time it was unveiled.

Fans from leading clubs in England, Italy, and Spain were against the formation of the Super League as they claimed it was geared towards enriching the owners with the Premier League‘s ‘big six’ involved in proposals.

UEFA who were against the formation threatened to ban the teams involved but Real Madrid and Barcelona, some of the league's founders, have always insisted that they will be back better after restrategizing.

Wirtschaftswoche, as per the Mirror, are reporting that the revised plans would remove the highly controversial ‘guaranteed entry’ for Europe’s most profitable clubs and would include a 20-team top division as well as a 20-team second tier.

It adds that the Super League planners are also preparing sweeteners for supporters, including financial aid to fans traveling to away fixtures in the competition.
