✍🏾 England manager Southgate signs new deal

England have announced that manager Gareth Southgate has put pen to paper on a new deal.

The rather unsurprising news was revealed by England via social media on Monday.

"Here to stay. We're delighted to confirm that Gareth Southgate has extended his #ThreeLions contract through to 2024," the update said.

The world giants also added to confirm that Southgate's number two Steve Holland also earned a new until 2024.

"Southgate, who marks five years in charge of the Three Lions at the end of this month, has overseen a period of positive progress, guiding England to a FIFA World Cup semi-final and UEFA Nations League third place before securing the best men’s performance in 55 years with the UEFA EURO Final this summer," England's statement added.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions, who've already booked a place at next year's Qatar World Cup, will be using the remaining months to develop the team's competitiveness in friendlies, before starting the EURO 2024 qualifiers in March 2022.
