Spanish giants Real Madrid have confirmed defender Daniel Carval has tested positive for COVID-19.
Carvajal was part of the Real Madrid squad that beat Barcelona 3-2 on Wednesday night to make it to the Super Cup final. The 29-year-old is now set to miss the Super Cup final tie against Athletic Bilbao this Sunday after they eliminated Atletico Madrid with a 2-1 victory.
"Real Madrid announces that our player Daniel Carvajal tested positive at Covid-19," a statement from the club read.
In the absence of Carjaval, Carlo Ancelotti may consider using Lucas Vazquez at the right back.
