Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich announced the signing of 17-year-old U.S. international Taylor Booth on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
In a statement, Bayern noted: “FC Bayern has today announced the signing of 17-year-old U.S. international Taylor Booth on a two-and-a-half-year contract with immediate effect. The attacking midfielder joins the German record champions’ academy from Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.”
Booth will join the club’s U19 side managed by coach Sebastian Hoeneß and will participate in the U23 winter training camp in Dallas, Texas to prepare him for the U19’s second half of the season.
FC Bayern Campus Manager Jochen Sauer said of the signing: "We see a lot of potential in Taylor. He is a talented young player, and we look forward to working with him to develop his talent further."
Born in Eden, Utah, Booth also plays for the U19 U.S. national team and has represented his country in the U17 World Cup in India in 2017.
"I'm very happy with this next step in my career," said Booth. "FC Bayern is one of the largest clubs in the world. Being here in Munich at the FC Bayern campus and taking the next steps in my development makes me very proud. "
Booth’s arrival comes shortly after the club announced the signing of Alabama-born Chris Richards from FC Dallas and the arrival of Alphonso Davis from Vancouver Whitecaps.
