Solskjaer dissects PSG before Champions League Tuesday showdown

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised their Tuesday's Champions League opponents PSG.

Solskjaer explained how the French club has seen tremendous progress over the years and now boasts of World-known players across their squad. The Norwegian cited Gianluigi Buffon in goal, Thiago Silva in front of him in defence and the World-Cup winning young player Kylian Mbappe. To him, the Red Devils will be playing against a team that is not lacking in confidence and talent.

"It has been fantastic to see their progress. I played against them for Molde in 1995 in the Cup Winners’ Cup.  The difference now is fantastic – they have got some of the world’s best players. One of the biggest goalkeeping legends in the world – Buffon, Thiago Silva, who has been one of the best centre-backs in the world in the last few years. They also have one of the most exciting young players with Mbappe, that tells you everything about their evolution. We know we are playing against a team with confidence because they are used to winning. We are looking forward to this. It is both the supporters and the players who have been looking forward to these nights because they are special." Solskjaer told reporters.

Martial vs Sanchez

Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez are all fit to face PSG in the round of 16 and Solskjaer has said the availability of the duo is a boost for the team as they create healthy competition between themselves.

"They are two quality players that can play in many positions. It is not a fight (for a place), they are team-mates, working together towards an objective of going through this round of course and looking for trophies. There is always competition when you are at a club like this. Anthony is a young one coming through, Alexis has more experience, so it is good being their coach," Solskjaer explained.

On whether United will hand him the job permanently, the Norwegian says there are still months before his current contract ends and in between many things can happen.

"Yes, it is too simple. You need to change the script soon because you have so many ways of asking that question! There are still a few more months left of this season for me to do whatever I can for the club. "Solskjaer responded when asked if he stands the chance to succeed Jose Mourinho permanently.
