Match preview 🖊
Valencia is unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions, last suffering defeat in the first leg of their quarter-final clash against Getafe back at the tail end of January. Marcelino's side is in decent form coming into this one. The hosts have not lost at Mestalla since November, recapturing some of the form that made them so competitive and difficult to knock off course when Los Che made their Champions League push in La Liga last campaign.
Visitors Betis will be motivated to make progress here, however, after elimination from the Europa league. Their chase for the top four is far from over, too, which means they'll be a tough nut to crack here.
Team news 📰
Valencia must do without centre back Ezequiel Garay but other than that, they have a clean bill of health. Real Betis' situation in that front is a little more complicated - Left back Junior Firpo is sidelined and his understudy Christian Tello is a major doubt, so they might be forced into using Andres Guardado as a left wing back. Jese, on-loan from Paris Saint-Germain, is injured so a lot of goal goal-burden will fall to experienced winger Joaquin and in-form Argentine Giovani Lo Celso, also on a season-long loan from PSG.
