After featuring sparingly this season, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has spoken on Gary Cahill playing for the club again.
Despite being the skipper Cahill has not played since November and is out of contract at the end of the season. Sarri has preferred the center back pairing of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in English Premier League games locking out Cahil out of the starting 11.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the London Derby against Fulham, Sarri was asked if Cahill will feature for the club again, "I don't know. I know very well he's in the last year of his contract and there are some problems for a new contract. But for this you have to ask the club. He's training with his team-mates, of course."
The Italian manager was also asked if they are learning from Cahill's experience, "No, I know very well that in the dressing-room he's very important. Very important. So we use him in the right way, I think. Every player, every member of the staff, knows very well that he's very important for our dressing-room."
