Manchester United trigger Andreas Pereira's contract extension option

Manchester United are set to extend Andreas Pereira’s stay at Old Trafford by a further 12 months after triggering the extension option in his contract according to Sky Sources.

Pereira, 23, spent last season on loan at Valencia but has benefited from United’s injury crisis this season - featuring eight times under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Brazilian scored his first Premier League goal for the Red Devils in a 3-2 comeback win over Southampton earlier this month, and also provided an assist to Romelu Lukaku.

The midfielder was also pivotal to Solskjaer’s charges last week as they stormed the Champions League quarter-finals after a stunning 3-1 away win against Paris Saint-Germain last week.
