Arsenal overturned a 3-1 deficit to beat Stade Rennes 3-0 and proceeded to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals with the match marked by Aubameyang's goal celebration. The Gabonese forward had planned the same celebration against Manchester United but revealed that he couldn't find his mask, "I had a special celebration planned but I couldn’t find my mask. I asked a member of the staff to put it in the back of the net but when I scored the penalty I couldn’t find it. But no worries. Maybe next time."

Speaking in a press conference after the win over Rennes, Aubameyang revealed the reason behind his celebration, "I needed a mask which represents me and that's the Black Panther. In Gabon we call the national team the Panthers"
