Iker Casillas: I want to play until I'm 40

19 Mar 2019, 16:35

Veteran Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas says he wants to play until he is 40 years and end his career with Portuguese giants Porto.

Casillas, 37, has rediscovered his form in Portugal reestablishing himself as the number one choice at the club this season, starting 34 games to date.

The former Real Madrid shot-stopper recently penned a one-year deal that will take his stay into a fifth season.

“Since I've arrived in Portugal, (FC Porto president) Pinto da Costa has treated me so well,” Casillas told Movistar+, in quotes carried by ESPN FC.

“This week I'm going to renew my contract with Porto that will see me remain at the club until I'm 40. I'm 37 now so I will probably end my career at FC Porto.”
