A combination of goalkeeper Ben Foster's blunder and Troy Deeney's unecessary red card helped Arsenal to a 1-0 victory. The win also takes the Gunners back to position four above Chelsea in the English Premier League standings.

Aubameyang's gifted goal came around the 11th minute when Foster pondered over the ball to allow Aubameyang to press and deflect his attempted clearance into the net.

It took just over 60 seconds for things to go worse for Watford. Skipper Deeney's elbow on Lucas Torreira  resulted in a straight red card.

Unai Emery's men have now leaped from sixth to fourth place to overtake Manchester United and Chelsea.

Here's how the two sides line up:

Watford: Foster, Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Masina, Hughes, Capoue, Doucoure, Femenia, Deeney, Gray

Subs: Gomes, Britos, Mariappa, Navarro, Chalobah, Sema, Success

Arsenal: Leno, Mustafi, Koscielny, Mavropanos, Monreal, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Ramsey, Iwobi, Aubameyang.

Subs: Cech, Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac, Elneny, Guendouzi, Ozil, Lacazette.

Arsenal's next three league games are a home date against Crystal Palace followed by two trips to Wolves and Leicester. But first will be the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals second leg trip to Napoli on Thurday, where Arsenal carry a 2-0 lead from the Emirates.
