Middlesbrough hand Samuel Folarin two-week trial

EFL Championship club Middlesbrough have reportedly handed a trial to promising Nigerian winger Samuel Folarin with an option to transfer.

However, this is not the first time the youngster has been linked with a possible transfer from Tooting & Mitcham United Football Club as he trained with League One club Charlton Athletic in March.

Folarin will undergo a trial with the Boro for two weeks, after which a decision will be made by the youth team coaches as to whether he will be offered a contract.

He started the season with ‏Tooting & Mitcham's U18s before earning a promotion to the U23s and got his first call-up to the first team in February 2019, which shows the progress he has made over the last few months.

Ahead of his trip to Middlesbrough, he was left out of The Terrors side that lost 2-1 to Ashford Town in the Bostik League on April 13.

Former Flying Eagles stars Sammy Ameobi, Kenneth Omeruo and John Obi Mikel have made first-team appearances for Middlesbrough.
