Highlands Park have reportedly exercised their option to keep their current number one choice goalkeeper Marlon Heugh.

Heugh's contract would have expired at the conclusion of the 2018/19 season, however, the Tembisa-based club has opted to add a year.

The 28-year-old has made 13 appearances across all competitions with fellow goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini still out on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.

The club's co-director Larry Brookstone confirmed the news to KickOff without revealing too much to the media.

"His contract has been extended already, we've taken up the option six months ago," Brookstone said.

Highlands Park are currently eight on the Premier Soccer League log with 34 points from 24 matches and will be looking to use the remainder of their fixtures to cement a top-eight spot.
