Chelsea defender blasts coach Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has hit out at manager Maurizio Sarri over what he termed as 'lack of respect' despite winning numerous trophies with the club.

The captain has been barely used in the current campaign, only managing seven appearances in all competition, with the last being against PAOK in November in the Europa League

"It’s been really terrible for me personally. It will just be erased out of my head when I leave Chelsea. My last memory will be last season’s FA Cup final," Cahill told The Telegraph.

"It’s been very difficult. I have played on a regular basis over the previous six seasons and I’ve won everything with Chelsea, so to be watching from the stands is something I didn’t expect,"

"I see some of the situations with players who won the title with Chelsea, not just myself, and it just hasn’t been right,"

The 33-year-old joined Chelsea from Bolton back in January 2012 and tasted immediate success after winning the Champions League the same year, and adding more titles including Europa League, Premier League (twice), FA Cup (twice) and League Cup.

The competition for a spot in Chelsea's backline has been stiff, with the likes of David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen ahead of the former England international in the pecking order.

Cahill is expected to leave the club at the end of the current campaign, bringing an end to his seven-year stay at the Bridge.
