Dusan Tadic grabbed a brace as Ajax beat De Graafschap 4-1 to secure a domestic double this season.
It is a memorable campaign for the Dutch side as they won their first league title since 2014. Lasse Schone and Nicolas Tagliafico in the first half before Tadic netted a brace in the second half with Youssef el Jebli scoring the consolation goal for the visitors.
The title had been all-but sealed in Sunday’s round of games and tonight’s win meant Ajax are three points clear of runners-up PSV Eindhoven. Even as title winner, Ajax must again enter the Champions League qualifying rounds, needing to eliminate two opponents to reach the lucrative group stage.
PSV will start one round earlier, needing to beat three opponents, just as Ajax did last year to get into this season’s Champions League.
