Frenkie De Jong on how he will play alongside Lionel Messi at Barcelona
Having completed his move to Barcelona at the turn of the year, Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong has revealed that he is itching to link up with his new teammates in Spain.
de Jong secured a move to Barcelona back in January as he signed a pre-contract that will see him join the Spanish giants in the summer transfer window. Ajax claimed their 34th Eredivisie title with a 4-1 win over De Graafschap on Wednesday night. Erik ten Hag's side finished three points ahead of PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie as they completed a domestic double after winning the KNVB Cup last weekend.
The Dutch youngster joked that he will make Messi his first port of call whenever he gets the ball, "I'm very excited to see Messi during training. I think I'm only going to pass the ball to him! I'm not going to change how I am; it won't matter (the pressure) if I focus. I'm curious about how I'll perform there and I'm eager to learn from the best."
