Arsenal midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the UEFA Europa League final against Chelsea on Wednesday 29th May as his teammates applauded him when he broke the news to them.
The Gunners confirmed the Armenian won't be part of the traveling squad to Baku following a collective agreement with Mkhitaryan's family. The former Manchester United midfielder will miss the final due to non-existent diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan because of disputes over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. Mkhitaryan also missed Arsenal's game against Qarabag FK last year as he could not travel to Azerbaijani due to insecurity issues.
