Nigeria's Flying Eagles suffered their first defeat at the FIFA U20 World Cup with a 2-0 loss to USA on Monday.

After a 4-0 win in their opening match of the FIFA U20 World Cup against Qatar, the Flying Eagles headed to their second game with the hope securing three points and advancing to the next stage.

USA, after suffering a 2-1 defeat in their first game against Ukraine, got off to a dorminating start which paid off when Sebastian Soto broke the deadlock in the 18th minute.

After conceding, the Flying Eagles woke up and threatened the defence of their opponent but to no avail.

USA extended their lead one minute after the break, when Soto found the back of the net to get his brace.

With the introduction of fresh legs by coach Paul Aigbogun, the Flying Eagles could not find their rythm as they were beaten 2-0 by the Americans.

Nigeria will have to beat Ukraine in their final group game to stand a chance of advancing.
