Andre and Jordan Ayew made worldwide headlines on Tuesday, June 25 after scoring in the same game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Ghana international duo collected their 132nd cap respectively which led them to trend on various social media platforms after their impressive display on their night.
Former Egyptian internationals Ibrahim and Hossam Hassan are the most capped brothers in history. The Hassan brothers made approximately 303 appearances between for the Pharaohs - Ibrahim made 125 appearances, while Hossam represented Egypt 178 times.
Another well-known pair of siblings are Ivory Coast's Yaya and Kolo Toure who tallied a total of 215 appearances for the West African team.
Christopher and Felix Katongo from Zambia also made their names known on the international stage. Christopher who plied his trade for Jomo Cosmos and Bidvest Wits made approximately 89 appearances, while Felix made 76 appearances respectively.
Jordan and Andre Ayew have officially stamped their position as the fifth most capped African brothers when they made their respective 52nd and 80th appearances for Ghana. The Ayew siblings managed to find the back of the net in the same game after the Black Stars played to a 2-2 draw against Benin. This also happens to be their third Afcon match in which they have scored.
On the other hand, Andre has become Ghana's top goalscorer after scoring his ninth goal and has gone on to beat Asamoah Gyan who is currently on eight. One more goal will put the Fenerbahce's star in Africa's Top Ten goalscorers in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
