Manchester United began the pre-season with a win over Australian outfit Perth Glory courtesy of goals from Marcus Rashford and James Garner in a match staged at the Optus Stadium on Saturday 13th July.
With this being the first game of pre-season United were excused for not hitting full throttle from the onset but dominated huge spells of possession in the Perth Glory half. Solskjaer handed starts to various youngsters including Tahith Chong, Daniel James and Axel Tuanzebe.
United finally went close in the 27th minute when new signing James who has making his debut was chopped down around 25-yards from goal. Ashley Young curled a delicious effort inches wide of the goalkeeper’s near post with some fans in the stadium thinking the ball had gone in.
Solskjaer's men again tested the Perth defense when Jesse Lingard picked out Anthony Martial on the left side of the box as he shifted the ball onto his right foot but fired wide.
The Norwegian manager altered his starting 11 taking off all the players and introducing a fresh new team. The Perth defense finally crumbled under the immense United pressure at the stroke of the hour mark when Pogba played in a back-heeled pass that Rashford took a shot on the turn from the left corner of the box which found the bottom corner.

United finally grabbed their second of the game in the 85th minute and it did not take James Garner long to announce himself on the pitch as he scored with virtually his first touch of the ball as he capitalized on a poor pass into the midfield, taking a touch and drilling the ball powerfully into the net.
