After netting a brace in the 4-0 win over St. Patrick's on Saturday, Olivier Giroud has revealed that he is enjoying the intensity of Frank Lampard's training sessions.
Mason Mount, who spent last campaign on loan at Derby under Lampard, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal from Mateo Kovacic's pass, before Emerson Palmieri doubled the lead on 31 minutes. It was to get even better for the Blues in the second half with Olivier Giroud netting a double following his introduction from the bench at half-time.
In an interview with Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, Giroud revealed what he has liked under Lampard, "I like his energy and desire to always improve and win. We've been training very hard with high intensity. I think he [Lampard] is the right person. He is basically a Chelsea legend."
"We all believe in his quality to improve the team and with the transfer ban it's a good opportunity for the young players to show what they can do. Now we're excited to play the first league game."
