Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has dismissed talks linking him with a move to Barcelona by insisting that he is happy at Old Trafford.
Lindelof's agent Hasan Cetinkaya fuelled the speculation last week by saying his client state at United depended on the English club this coming after Barcelona had been rumored to have singled out the player as a target if they failed to secure the signature of Mathjis De Light.
The Sweden international dismissed the transfer talk as he prepared to face Leeds in Perth on Wednesday saying he was really looking forward to the new season.
“I am very happy to be a Manchester player and I'm really looking forward to this season to start. I'm very happy here.
“I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better one for me. I performed better than my first, pretty sure. I'm just trying to do my best every day and that's what I work hard for every day to help the team and the club,” Lindelof said in the press conference.
Lindelof has yet to experience the rivalry between United and Leeds but is looking forward to facing Marcelo Bielsa's side at the 60,000-capacity Optus Stadium.
“Of course, I know about the rivalry and history. I think it's going be a tough game tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it,” he added.
The player joined United in 2017 from Portugal side Benfica.
