πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ πŸ–Š Barcelona completes signing of Japanese wonder kid Abe

Barcelona has completed the signing of young Japan winger Hiroki Abe from J-League club the Kashima Antlers.

Barcelona has paid €1.1 million for the 20-year-old and assigned him to their reserve team, which plays in the third-tier of Spanish football.

Abe has signed a four-year deal with a €40 million buyout clause which would rise to €100 million if he is promoted to the first team.

He is considered to be "Japanese football's big promise ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games," Barca said on their official website.  Abe, who made his international debut in the Copa America last month, can play anywhere across the front line, but they see him as a left-winger going forward.

Abe was the J-League's young player of the year in 2018 and started both legs as Kashima won the Asian Champions League title in that season. He made 79 appearances for the Antlers over the last three seasons scoring 10 times.

Real Madrid signed a Japanese wonder kid of their own last month in the shape of Takefusa Kuno, a player who has been nicknamed the 'Japanese Messi’ but he’ll also have to wait to make his debut after being assigned to the Real Madrid Castilla team.

It should be an intriguing LaLiga season in store, with both Spanish giants adding world class household names and players for the future to their rosters.
