Unai Emery provides an update on Arsenal's transfers

After a 3-0 win on their opening pre-season game against Colorado Rapids, Unai Emery admitted that his squad needs strengthening in the summer transfer window.

According to various sources, Arsenal have a budget £40m and have so far only landed one signing in the name of Gabriel Martinelli in a £5m deal. The Brazilian youngster enjoyed an impressive debut marked with a goal as a young Arsenal side cruised to victory over Colorado Rapids in their pre-season opener.

Emery revealed that he is working with the club's Sporting Director, Edu to bolster the squad ahead of next season, "The club is working. We are speaking every day with the club and Edu. I prefer to work with patience and calm and take the best decision. We have very good players, very young good players. We need someone to help us. The club is working on that."

Arsenal next face Bayern Munich in their second pre-season game on Thursday 18th July.
