De Gea agrees fresh terms with Manchester United

Manchester United finally seem to have convinced goalkeeper David De Gea that his future is at Old Trafford, and is willing to stay after he was offered a new six-year-contract.

According to Standard News, De Gea will become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the fresh deal, which will seem him take home £375,000-a-week.

The Spanish international was not willing to commit his long-term future after the club failed to give in to his demand of becoming United's highest earner at £450,000-a-week.

De Gea was on the radar for top European sides, including French champions PSG and Italian giants Juventus.

Real Madrid, who have courted the shot-stopper for seasons now, however, cooled their interest, after signing Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last season.

The goalie suffered a dip in form towards the end of last season, and his costly errors against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Barcelona cost the club a place in the Champions League next season.

He has however been the standout performer for the club in the last six seasons, single-handedly winning matches for the club.

He is expected to be one of the key players for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer next season.
