With Ander Herrera joining Paris Saint-Germain, Scott McTominay has revealed he aims to use his versatility to help Manchester United.
McTominay has a decent campaign last season, impressing with some of his performances most notably in the first-leg draw against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Ander Herrera departed United at the end of the campaign and is yet to be replaced in the summer transfer window, which is likely to provide more opportunities for the 22-year-old.
The Scottish international is banking on his versatility to get more playing time next season, "That was my goal two years ago and last year. That's always been my goal. It's my ambition to be a regular No.6, No.8, a box to box player - that's my main ambition. It's important that I really go for that now.
"Obviously there is an opportunity there and you've got to take it with both hands. Last year I had some decent performances and it's important that I carry on from that. We're in the Europa League this year and it's important that I continue."
