Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will like to see out his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation despite criticism from many quarters.
Rohr led the Super Eagles to third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and came under criticism for his defeats to Madagascar and Algeria.
Rohr's tactics and selection of players, as well as substitutions were a major concern to many pundits and fans alike.
But the German, who took over the job in 2016, has until 2020 on his contract, and is not thinking of dropping out.
“The only thing I can tell you now is that he has one year left on his contract and it’s his desire to stay here and continue my work but both parties need to be happy as well,” a top NFF official told Sports Extra.
“After that, anything can happen in football but I can say that he is happy here.”
Since he was in charge, Nigeria have recorded 20 wins in 35 matches, drawn five and lost 10 games.
