đŸ’¯Manchester United ends pre-season tour with 100% win record

Manchester United ended their pre-season tour with a 100% record after beating AC Milan 7-6 on penalties in a match staged at Millennium on Saturday 3rd.

United took the lead through Marcus Rashford but Suso’s strike ensured nothing split the two sides as they went for a break. In the second half, Milan took the lead through Victor Lindelöf’s own goal But Jesse Lingard came from the bench to level the scores for the Red Devils.

After 90 minutes, the two sides could not be separated which resulted to a penalty shoot-out.  Daniel Maldini missed the fifth penalty for Milan with Daniel James netting the winning goal for the Red Devils.

AC Milan had an early possession as they patiently worked their way up the field and showed no hesitation playing the back to Donnarumma under no pressure in a bid to keep the ball.

Rashford ⚽

Despite Milan’s early possession, United took the lead in the 14th minute and in some style through Marcus Rashford. Matic showed awareness to pick out the run of Rashford with a defense-splitting pass. He then brought the ball under control and drove at the Milan centre-backs, traveling to the center of the area where his low drive flashed past Donnarumma via a deflection of Romagnoli.

Suso ⚽

Milan drew level through Suso who had missed a good chance after seeing his curler flash wide. His identical effort in the 26th minute leveled the score. Matic loses possession cheaply just outside the United area and he's punished as Suso opts for precision over power and beats De Gea at his near post with a brilliant left-footed strike.

Own ⚽

United’s unbeaten pre-season record was under threat in the 60th minute as Victor Lindelof scored an own goal to hand Milan the lead. Samu Castillejo’s glancing header towards the goal took a deflection off the unfortunate Lindelof on its way past De Gea.

Lingard ⚽

After coming on in the 65th minute, Jesse Lingard took seven minutes to level the scores for Manchester United. Martial, inside the box squared the ball on the left where the ball found Lingard who shifted the ball onto his left foot before firing low past Reina into the bottom corner.

The victory means six wins from six for Ole Gunnar Solskajer's side ahead of their Premier League opener against Chelsea on August 11.  👏
