Arsenal legend blasts Koscielny after his unceremonious exit

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has termed Laurent Koscielny's exit from the club 'disrespectful'.

The Frenchman left the club after a nine-year stay, choosing to head back to his native country with Bordeaux in a deal worth £4.6million.

The now-former captain angered many of the club's fans after he refused to travel with the rest of the team for a preseason tour, opting to force his exit.

He went a step further during his official presentation at the French club, turning out in an Arsenal jersey before removing it to reveal the new Bordeaux kit.

Wright took to his twitter account to express his displeasure with the 'disrespectful' exit, saying he should have done better.

"This hurts. The level of disrespect. You should be ashamed of the way you've left the club after 9 years! Got what you wanted and still trying to have a dig Hope it's worth it in the long run," he wrote.

In a message on his Instagram, Koscielny thanked the team and fans alike, further pleading with them to understand his decision.

"This experience made me the player I am today. My decision to leave has been discussed for months with my club, my teammates, my coach and it has been a well-thought decision,"

"I see this departure like a new turning point in my life as a player but also in my life as a man and a family man,"

Koscielny joined Arsenal in 2010 from Lorient and went on to make 353 appearances, scoring 27 goals and winning two FA Cups.
