Zesco United boss George Lwandamina revealed that his team traveled to Eswatini for the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against Green Mamba with a win at the back of their minds.
Lwandamina was also quick to point to the fact that his team was still in preseason phase.
"Everything game you play in a Cup tournament is a final. I know it's a double legged affair but we came here to try and collect points and finish it off in Zambia. I told you that it will be a tough game because for us it's just third week in the preseason and this game was just part of Preseason because in football they are no short cuts," he said.
" They are a good side. They were able to knock around the ball and had endurance. We will continue with our preseason but with the venue that we have to go to the next round," he added.
"It's too early to start talking about individuals but there was cohesion as a team."
Captain of the side Jacob Banda expressed happiness with the performance and believes his team played according to instructions.
"Am very happy with the defense and my team we played according to instructions from the coach. We just have to do better so we looking forward to the next game," he said.
Zesco beat Green Mamba 2-0 away in Eswatini ahead of their return leg fixture scheduled 24th August at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
