Rennes beat defending French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain last night and 16-year-old Eduardo Camavinga turned out a brilliant display.
The left-footed Angolan youngster showed maturity beyond his years with a performance that exhibited great decision-making ability, awareness and intelligence.

The central midfielder looks like a top prospect for the future and has played 90 minutes in each of Rennes' three matches across all competitions so far this season. He got an assist in their 2-1 win against PSG last night, and also started and finished a Ligue 1 encounter against Montpellier, which Rennes won, and the French Super Cup defeat to PSG just before the start of the season.
Camavinga is a tall, tough-tackling left-footer who likes to make interceptions and blocks, as well as intelligent fouls when the situation calls for it. Last night, he showed other sides of his game with numerous precision long balls, dribbles and general smart distribution of the ball. He used his body well to draw fouls from PSG players and assisted Rennes' winning goal and showed calmness throughout the 90 minutes.
The future looks bright for this rising African star and we'll be watching his progress in Ligue 1 closely this season!
